Whitney Elizabeth Houston is a performer that was born in Newark New Jersey on the 9th of August, 1963. The parents of her are gospel superstars Cissy Houston(n e Emily Lee Drinkard) and John Russell Houston Jr. Whitney's cousin Dionne warwick also sings. As a child she performed in the New Hope Baptist Church choir in Newark. At the age of she was fifteen, Houston was singing professionally with backing vocals alongside her mother in Chaka Khan's hit song in 1978 Im Every Woman. Then she went on to sing backing vocals with Lou Rawls, Jermaine, as well as her mom. She started as a featured singer for New York-based New York Funk band Material. Her vocal quality performance attracted the attention of major record label Arista which she joined in 1983. Whitney Houston became the top-selling debut record for an artist in the year. Dana Bash or Dana Ruth Schwartz in the way she's commonly known as, is an American anchorwoman reporter as well as CNN's political correspondent. Her past work includes NBC, CBS and other prominent channels. Additionally, she produces certain shows on CNN's weekends such as Evans & Novak Late Edition and Inside Politics. When it comes to honours and awards Bash was once placed in Women in Washington Power List' by Elle magazine. She is known to have incredible anchoring/reporting abilities and she's highly regarded by younger journalists. Her one child is her greatest joy in life.
