April Ross

April Ross has won more than one Olympic medal. She is among just a handful of female beach volleyball players who have done so. Alix Kallineman will be competing with April Ross Tokyo to take home her third gold medal in the coming days. Ross would like to do something more than just her first Olympic medal. And at the age of 39, this could be her last chance get it done. She remains confident though that the top honours will be within reach. If we can perform to our highest or even play properly, I'm sure we'll be able to win that gold medal Ross spoke of via NBC Boston. Additionally, I'm going try to be a little chance. Ross is born in the year 1982. Costa Mesa California where she resided with her parents and her sister. She then went on to compete in numerous sports in Newport Harbor High School. She competed in basketball and track in addition to her volleyball skills in the indoors during her prep time. It was clear that she was cut above the rest in the latter sport. In her high school volleyball season, according to her college information, she played as middle blocker, an outside hitter, and setter. The effort was recognized with her being named 1999 Gatorade's Circle of Champions National Players of the Year. In 2000, she won an Orange County Athlete of the of the year for volleyball. Ross Klineman joined her collaboration in the year 2017, however, Ross was an established athlete on the beach for a long time before. In fact, she's played a significant role on the beach throughout the years. Indeed, Ross won several tournaments, including one with a famous volleyball star. The pair was Jennifer Kessy from 2007-2013, and she also served as Kessy's Klineman and coach. Along together with Kessy Ross, the duo won the World Championship in 2009 as she raced in the international circuit. They won a Silver Medal during the 2012 Olympic Games held in London. Misty Maytreanor (Jennings) and Misty Maytreanor clinched gold beating them to it. Ross became Walsh Jennings new partner after May-Treanor's resignation. They won the bronze medal at the beach volleyball competition in the Rio Olympics 2016. Ross played for the Trojans from USC during high school after she finished the high school she attended. Her time at USC was impressive. When she was a freshman at the school in 2000 she fought her way to Pac-10 and NCAA Freshman of the Year honors and earned an All-American. Her performance also assisted in helping the Trojans get to their first Final Four. In her sophomore year, she suffered a tremendous personal tragedy, yet managed to make it back as an All-American. Through her final two years playing for the Trojans she was instrumental in helping them win consecutive championships. She was a superb volleyball player, winning the Honda Sports Award in 2003-04 as the best female college volleyball player. Ross went on to study internationally-related studies at USC. Margie Ross, Ross' mother, was never given the opportunity to witness her daughter become a beach volleyball superstar. Ross suffered the loss of her mom to cancer of the breast in the year 2001. Ross was then a sophomore. She continues to cherish her parents who passed away. and Margie has always been an energy for her on the beach as well as in everyday life.
