Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington, a Greek American businesswoman and syndicated journalist, is also an author. She has written fifteen books and is the cofounder the magazine The Huffington Post. Arianna Huffington is an author TV personality, philanthropist, and TV host as well as the owner and publisher of The Huffington Post. Originally from Greece she moved to England at the age of sixteen and then graduated from Cambridge University with an MA in Economics. When she was 21, she became the head of the famous debate society The Cambridge Union' and was the first non-native student to do so. After her graduation, she became a well-known Conservative syndicated journalist. In the years after that she launched The Huffington Post which featured critiques of the current political scene. The fame of her name helped to get a number of prominent contributors to share their opinions on news, politics, and other topics. Arianna gained fame after she made the decision in 2003 to stand as an independent candidate for the California Recall election to succeed the former governor Davis. Alongside that, she led a Detroit initiative to promote fuel-efficient vehicles. Forbes placed her at 12 on its top 10 list of Most Influential Media Women. Guardian also included the HuffingtonPost in their Top 100 list in 2010. AOL Inc. purchased The Huffington Post, and she was made president of the media company. It included a variety of AOL properties of the time like Engadget AOL style list and Patch Media. Elli is the child of Konstantinos the Journalism and management expert. They were very close to her father, but it was her relationship with her mother which formed her. When she was a teen she demonstrated leadership skills that she still is known for. In the year she turned 16years old, she emigrated from America to United Kingdom and enrolled Girton College Cambridge. She joined the Cambridge Union college debate society throughout her college years in which she became the third and first female to serve as the president. In 1972, her Master's in Economics was awarded. Her professional career as a journalist and television host started after her graduation. Also, with Bernard Levin she appeared on an edition of Face the music.
